Critical Race Theory – Oppose and Eliminate

CCRCC RESOLUTION on CRITICAL RACE THEROY

WHEREAS, the Calaveras County Republican Party believes that all people are created equal, and that our Constitution and Bill of Rights were written to protect the individual rights of all people.

WHEREAS, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. fought for equal rights with a message to judge people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

WHEREAS, the basic philosophy of Critical Race Theory (CRT) is that America is a systemic racist country where every facet of life favors straight white people over people of color.

WHEREAS, in CRT, racism is a system of oppression invented hundreds of years ago by white people to oppress people of color, thereby maintaining their own power.

WHEREAS, CRT teaches that social problems are created by racist or patriarchal societal structures and systems, America’s representative republic based upon the consent of the people must be completely dismantled and replaced.

WHEREAS, any school curriculum that teaches these philosophies will be teaching our children the very racist ideas Critical Race Theory espouses to be against.

WHEREAS, our responsibility as American citizens is to fight to keep this dangerous philosophy out of our public schools.

WHEREAS, our responsibility as American citizens is to insist on the teaching of the principles and the accurate history of America’s founding and of the United States Constitution in our schools.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Calaveras County Republican Party will work to end the teaching of hate and racism, starting with our local schools, to ensure that Critical Race Theory or any other Social Justice curriculum promoting the same philosophy will not be taught in our local schools.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Calaveras County Republican Party will send a copy of this adopted Resolution to the Calaveras School District Superintendents; District 5 – California State Assemblyman Frank Bigelow; District 8 – California State Senator, Andreas Borgeas; and Calaveras County Board of Supervisors and others for their information and consideration.
